Common Courtesy

As we all share the buildings of CityView, we respectfully ask that you be considerate of your neighbors and follow the guidelines below. This may be common knowledge for those who have lived in high-rise communities before, some residents new to communal living may not be aware of this or some existing residents may need refreshers.

If you have a noise complaint, or any other kind of complaint, please call the front desk or the rover and ask them to take care of it. Please do not assume that you know where the noise is coming from, as noises can carry quite a distance (even between floors), and it may not be coming from the unit that you think it is.

Please do not post noise complaints to Condo Control, as that might result in accusing someone who is not the rule-breaker, and it will also not inform the building staff to allow them to take positive action to address your complaint. Contact your front desk with your noise complaints, and they will have the rover look into it.

Before posting on Condo Control, please review the courteous communication guidelines for posting.

If you are having work done on your unit, please post a note in the Maintenance/Renovation Heads Up Condo Control discussion forum with information on which building and floor the work is being done on, as well as the expected duration of the work. This will allow your neighbors to understand what they should expect from the disruption.

If you have just gotten a new pet that may be noisy (or are being visited by a pet for an extended period), please post that information, so that neighbors will be less concerned about those noises.

If you spill water or leave garbage in the hallways, please clean them up rather than waiting for the next time the building cleaners or maintenance come through. A lot can happen in the interim, and it makes for a more pleasant environment for the others on your floor.

Sound can carry through unit doors, making hallway conversations audible within units and loud discussions in units audible within hallways or even other units. Please be considerate when you are on the phone or chatting with family and friends.

Similarly, please be gentle when closing your front doors as the sound can reverberate.
