Dear Residents,
We’d like to share a few helpful tips to enhance everyone’s experience here at CityView.
Garbage Disposals
To ensure the proper functioning of our garbage disposals and to avoid costly repairs, please follow the guidelines below:
DO: What You Can Put in the Garbage Disposal:
- Citrus Rinds: Lemon, lime, and orange peels can help freshen the disposal.
- Cold Water: Always run cold water before, during, and after using the disposal.
DON’T: What You Should NOT Put in the Garbage Disposal:
- Coffee Grounds:
- Egg Shells:
- Grease, Oils, and Fats: These can solidify and cause clogs.
- Fibrous Foods: Avoid corn husks, celery, onion skins, and artichokes.
- Large Bones: While small bones are fine, large bones can damage the blades.
- Pasta, Rice, and Bread: These expand with water and can clog the pipes. They also stick to grease and build scale on the pipes which over time reduces the diameter of pipe which drain from your unit/building stack.
- Non-Food Items: Plastic, paint, glass, metal, and paper should never be put in the disposal.
Additional Tips:
- Run the Disposal Regularly: Frequent use prevents rust and corrosion.
- Cut Large Items into Smaller Pieces: This prevents overloading the disposal.
- Use Ice Cubes to Sharpen Blades: Occasionally grind ice cubes to maintain sharpness.
By following these simple guidelines, we can maintain a safe and efficient waste management system in our community.
Plumbing:
- Please review the plumbing policy carefully. Both the owner and the plumber must sign the form, and the plumber must include their license number on it.
- The following items are to help prevent plumbing issues that may cause damage if neglected.
DO:
- Check for leaks around appliances like tubs, showers, beneath sinks and garbage disposals.
- Check water supply valves to ensure they are not corroded, rusted or hard to open/close.
- If you have an HVAC/PTAC unit, have it serviced annually, change the filter every three months. Make sure that the condensate line is cleared during the annual service.
- If you have a hot water tank, check the drip pan or install a water sensor that will alarm if the tank begins to fail.
- DON’T:
- Don’t flush wipes or feminine products.
- Don’t put eggshells, coffee grinds or oil down the drain.
Pets:
- Please remember to make sure you have your pet under your control at all times. Make sure your pet is always on the leash when you are not in your unit.
- Make sure your pet is not on CityView property when it needs to relieve itself.
- Make sure you have registered your pet. Make sure there is a photo on file in case of an emergency. See Theo
- Please review the pet policy for more information.
Parking:
- Parking in the circle is limited to 15 minutes. After 20 minutes you will receive a warning followed by a ticket and then a tow if you are there pass the allowed time limit.
Garage:
- The speed limit in the garage is 10 mph. Speeding will result in a fine.
- You must stop at both stop signs at the speed bump on the first level near the elevator. Not stopping will result in a fine.
(This memo is the warning.)
Front Entrance:
- Please have your key fob ready when entering the building and use it to open the door. While the concierge can assist if needed, it is not their responsibility to open the door if you are able to do so yourself.

Garage Update #1
Posted on by siteadmin
On April 15th, CityView’s management team announced the garage project that started this past Monday. The original document covered the scheduled work from April 29 through Saturday, May 11 and included details about parking spaces that would need to be vacated to accommodate the repairs.
This document has been sent using the mass communication system and will come from the address “communications@mc.
If you did not receive the e-mail, please contact Theo so we can update our records in the mass communication system.
The previous document has been updated to provide advance notice of work that will take place after May 11 through May 24. This updated document does not change any previously communicated, scheduled repairs, but does include work that has not commenced, yet, from the original document.
This update features work that will take place on all six levels of the parking deck, and details which parking spaces are impacted, and which vehicles need to be removed. Please review this document at your convenience. Hard copies will be left in the common areas for those of you who prefer not to read electronic documents.
2024 Garage Renovation Project

April 15, 2024
This is a mass communication email being sent to all owners and residents. However, if you do not park in the garage, this will not have a direct impact on you.
Dear Mark Goldhaber,
In 2017, CityView and CityView II performed a major overhaul of the parking structure addressing structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and safety concerns. CityView has been proactive. Since 2018, we have enlisted the assistance of O & S Associates, an engineering firm, to perform regular inspections of the garage and report their findings and recommendations for preventative maintenance and repairs. Based on their most recent findings, Armor Masonry has been engaged to perform the recommended repairs to the garage starting on Monday, April 29th at 8:00AM.
There is a lot to communicate, and a number of vehicles will need to be removed from their parking spaces to facilitate the repairs at different points in the project’s timeline. The first pre-construction meeting is scheduled for next week, but we did not want to delay relaying important and time sensitive information.
Here is a PDF file that details the work schedule from April 29th through May 11th. The document explains the nature of the work being performed, the parking spaces impacted by the work, when they need to be removed and when they can be returned to the garage. This document will be updated as more information becomes available.
If your vehicle is displaced to facilitate the repairs, you must remove it by 8:00AM or your vehicle may be towed at your expense. Unfortunately, CityView cannot assist you with relocating your vehicle. If you have a parking space that may be available for other residents to use, you can contact the management office, or post it on BuildingLink.
Hard copies of the attachment are available for review in the lobbies of each tower, in the Garden Court, Hamilton Room, Puzzle Area and on the Piano. Please return them when you are done so that other residents can review the materials.
