Art City Vets Roof Work

I’m writing to inform you that roof work will be taking place at Art City Vets on the morning of Friday, December 27, 2024. This work involves repairs and replacement related to the air handler.

During this process, Hamilton Street may need to be temporarily closed to accommodate a crane lifting the new air handler onto the roof. We recommend planning an alternative route in advance to avoid any inconvenience caused by the closure.

Warm regards,
Theo

Holiday Reminders

CityView & CityView II Community Update

As the year quickly comes to a close, the holiday season is upon us! Many residents are busy shopping, decorating, and preparing to celebrate.

Here are a few important community reminders to help ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday season:

Package Delivery

This time of year, sees a huge increase in the number of packages delivered to residents at CityView. It does not take long for the package rooms to reach capacity and often times the staff needs to place packages in lobby areas which are less secure and also make the lobby look cluttered.

Once again, we are happy to offer a no-cost package delivery service through the month of December. Please consider signing up at the front desk of your tower and our staff will deliver your packages and leave them inside your door, secure in your unit. If you do not sign up for delivery, please pick your packages up on the day they are delivered. If they sit for two days, they will be delivered or placed in the overflow area.

Holiday Decorating Guidelines

As we get into the holiday spirit, please keep the following guidelines in mind for decorating in our high-rise community in Philadelphia:

  • Artificial Only: For safety reasons, only artificial Christmas trees are permitted. Fresh greenery, including live wreaths, is not allowed.
  • Door Decorations: You may hang a holiday wreath on your door starting from Thanksgiving. Please ensure it is removed by January 15th.

Weather Advisory

Tonight’s temperatures are expected to dip into the twenties, with wind chills making it feel even colder.

Per the Declaration of Condominium, all units must maintain a minimum indoor temperature of 55°F to prevent issues like frozen pipes.

  • If you are away and need to adjust your thermostat, please contact the concierge to request a work order.
  • Our maintenance team or security rover will be available to assist in ensuring your unit remains properly heated.

Stay warm and enjoy the holiday season!

Dear Councilman Young, As a resident of District 5, I want to strongly express my support for the 23rd Street Protected Bike Lane. This project has already received a letter of support from the Logan Square Neighborhood Association, the RCO where this project is located. A community meeting was held in August 2024 and there was unanimous support for the project based on options presented by the City’s Office of Transportation & Infrastructure Systems.

Please introduce the necessary legislation before the end of this calendar year for the 23rd Street Protected Bike Lane from Race Street to Market Street. [Insert personal story or experience here]

A Message From Mural Arts Philadelphia About The Proposed Mural for The Horwitz-Wasserman Holocaust Memorial Plaza:

We are pleased to announce that the Mural Project Steering Committee has selected Berlin-based artist Ella Ponizovsky Bergelson to design the mural for the Holocaust Memorial Plaza on Benjamin Franklin Parkway. You can learn more about Ella, the artist selection process, and the Mural Project at the webpage here.

The roughly 2,500-square-foot mural will serve as a backdrop to the nation’s oldest public Holocaust monument and will be the first large-scale public mural dedicated to the Holocaust.

Ella will be in Philadelphia in early December to get to know the City and its diverse communities. To that end, we have planned two in-person community meetings in December and one virtual meeting in January. These meetings will provide an opportunity for the public to get to know Ella and understand her vision for the mural. We recognize that our reach is limited, both in our numbers and in the make-up of our general audience. We welcome and encourage people of all backgrounds to attend the community meetings. While the Holocaust is the central theme of this mural, the topics of displacement and discrimination universally affect every community throughout Philadelphia. It is our goal to welcome everyone to the mural process so that the final artwork can reflect the diverse experiences of our city.

The community meetings will take place at the following locations/times:

In-Person Community Meetings:

  • Sunday, December 8th, 2024 from 4 to 5:30 pm at Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel (8339 Old York Road, Elkins Park, PA 19027)
  • Wednesday, December 11th, 2024 from 6:30 to 8pm at WHYY (150 N 6th St, Philadelphia, PA 19106)

Virtual Community Meeting:

  • Sunday, January 12th, from 2 to 3:30 pm (zoom link to be shared after registration)

Please note that every attendee must register for the community events. Thank you for your support and interest in the mural project!

We hope to see you at one (or more!) of these community meetings. Thank you for your support.

Warm regards,
Theo
