Subject: Update on Green Drop Pickup

Dear Community Members,

Thank you to all the units that participated in the Green Drop pick up effort this morning. Unfortunately, Green Drop did not arrive as scheduled. With the help of another resident, I was able to transport all donations to Philly AIDS Thrift at 710 S 5th Street. They graciously accepted most of the items, and their team was a tremendous help with unloading.

For those interested in future donations, I’ve attached Philly AIDS Thrift’s flyer to this email. They are a small organization and currently do not offer pickups, but they would truly appreciate any additional community support. For more information about Philly AIDS Thrift you can go to https://www.phillyaidsthrift.com/about/

Looking ahead, I’m planning to organize a weekend Goodwill pick up in the Spring.

Best Regards,

CityView Gym Upgrades / Closure for Painting

November 7th to November 13th

Hi everyone,

We are doing an initial round of improvements to the gym starting November 7th to

November 13th. This will include painting, lighting, and some new equipment. The gym will be closed while these upgrades are being made to ensure the job gets done as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

More specific dates will be provided in the near future. We are looking into options for weekly memberships at nearby gyms for anyone who wants to use one while ours is closed.

Background and Details

As you may recall, we conducted a resident survey about the CityView gym back in May. We got over 200 replies. In response to a question about the importance of the gym, on a scale of 1 to 5 (“Not Important at All” to “Extremely Important”) 90% of respondents ranked it a 4 or 5.

The survey results provided lots of constructive feedback, some positive and some negative. The negative feedback focused mostly on issues of atmosphere and equipment.

To address these concerns, here is what has been agreed by the Boards of North and South Tower for this year:

  • New Paint: We will be repainting the walls of the gym and the gym bathrooms to provide more design consistency.

  • New Lights: We will be replacing the lights in the ceiling to help brighten up the space.

  • New Equipment: We will purchase a new set of physio balls, medicine balls, light dumbbells, kettlebells, floor mats, and a few other small items.

We hope these updates will go a long way to enhancing your gym experience!

Please recognize that we were not able to address every issue and equipment request from the survey results, which would be cost prohibitive. We will consider additional enhancements in future years.

If you have any feedback on these plans or additional input about the gym, please send a note to cvgym@cityviewphilly.org

Sincerely,

CityView I and CityView II Boards
